ART FOR FRISCO ARTS WALK RUN 2019

Collaborations, not commissions

i tell people I don’t do commissions. Making art per someone else’s needs or whims? No thanks. I get plenty of that with my day job. Why would I do that for entertainment? Am I a masochist? Yet, I also say, Tell me your idea and if it happens to align with something I want to explore, we may have a collaboration opportunity. That’s not a commission. It means I’m doing what i want and someone else is helping by providing fodder for thought going into it and feedback coming out. I like that. That’s cool.

For example….

The blockchain event was like that. It was really cool. Farhin, the organizer, was so wonderful to work with. I got to explore through my art several dimensions of tech culture that interested me. It was awesome. The Frisco Arts heartfelt event was likewise such a thing. Tammy is always great to work with. And now Tammy has approached me with something else; The Walk Run. I found it to be another opportunity to pursue my ambitions in a way that benefited her organization. That’s great. It’s a collaboration and not a commision. And I love it!

Here’s some photos from my adventures in art making.

I have many vises. This is one. It’s blue.

Who is this for again? Oh yeah, Fisco Arts. It’s the Arts Walk Run thing.

Hey, hand me the 9/16, please.

How to assemble metal art

These things are a hit. Even before seeing them in person, people are excited. They are nice to touch, feel the weight. The feel of real metal. Its not from a can. It sure ain’t veneer. This is the real deal - Real bare metal. Touchable. You’re gonna like it. I’m sure. :-)

Oh, by the way. these are the men runners. There are some women versions on their way. They take a little bit longer to get ready. That’s okay. I think you’re gonna like them.
