Classic Futurism

Motion

Classical Futurism is expressing a sense of motion in an image. This is my next exploration in figures. Of course, I'm also exploring themes of technology infrastructure, which is also Futurism. Both definitions are just over a hundred years old. So, Futurism is an antique.

A love of technology

Futurism is also about technology and looking forward with optimism. At least that is what is was about a hundred years ago when artists were celebrating advances in technology such as the telephone, automobile, aircraft, and electrical infrastructure.

As those of that era built new infrastructures to expand those technologies and artists of the time celebrated it in their art, I am telling the story of people today building in the cloud.

Power

Futurism is a celebration of infrastructure. The most mundane things around us that enable so much. It is not ugly. Its beautiful.

The Cloud

What is the cloud, really? It's a steam locomotive, a telephone wire, its " staccato signals of constant information " (Paul Simon) "these are the days of miracles and wonder. Don’t cry, baby, don't cry"
