Tammy Meinershagen, Executive Director of Frisco Arts, and I share an artsy moment.

Art at the Office

Today I brought the set of solid aluminum sculpture pieces to the Frisco Arts office at Hall Office Park. These are pieces I have been working on for some time. You’ve likely already seen photos of them if you follow me on social media. They are the culmination of a number of different explorations. If you look back at pieces I have created over the past year or so, you’ll see a pattern of progression.

This particular look is a variation on techXpressionism I call mech deco. It is similar to some pieces I have made for gaming and esports. See the trophy and DOTA02 trophy. Combining figures with this industrial look is something I will doing more. Look for more classic Futurism revisited.

Metal art sure looks great on a desk!

Tammy and Frisco Arts

Tammy Meinershagen, Executive Director of Frisco Arts, an accomplished musician in her own right, a great fan of art, and a wonderful person to know. How fortunate we are as a community to have her and the other great people leading arts initiatives in Frisco and north Texas. And how glad I am that she happens to love metal sculpture. But then, doesn’t everyone? It is pretty cool! :-)

And it was a hit at the event!

I like my art and I’m glad you like it too

I make stuff that I like. I’d probably still make the same stuff even if no one else appreciated it. But hey, It’s also true that I really enjoy when they do. Fact is, I am a designer of experiences and when I make art, I’m thinking about the experiences it can inspire. So, naturally, it’s fun when other people enjoy it too. It becomes a learning experience for me. I’m always curious to discover what aspects of the art seem to connect with people and why. Share your stories with me. I’d like to know. Thanks!

In any case, it was a good day.

Thank you Tammy. And thank you, Arts

Roger
